Tips For Plant And Soil Care

Proper plant and soil care is required if you want your lawn to be in immaculate condition all year round.  Unfortunately just adding fertilizer and composting without considering the present state of plant and soil will do you no good. You may even cause more damage than good.

We at LawnSafe have the experience, expertise, and the tools to get your lawn into shape and take care of it in the proper way.  To help you keep the lawn in tip-top condition we provide a few basic plant and soil care tips below.

The basics needed by grass to grow are that of sunlight, nutrients, and enough water at the right time. The fiercest enemies, however, should also be addressed including that of insects, diseases, and weeds taking over.

If one of the main elements are missing such as proper nutrients the lawn will suffer. Even with enough watering, mowing and sunlight, the grass requires nutrients which it gets from the soil. If the roots cannot get to the nutrients, they will become weak and the grass will die. As such aeration is needed once or twice a year to ensure effective flow of water, oxygen, and nutrients. It also makes it easier for the roots to dig deep and thus get the required nutrients.

The soil quality must right. As such the pH balance must be tested and fertilizer and composts added in the right combination. Once the soil balance is corrected you are already halfway there. The soil will ensure proper rooting and with the soil loose enough for the roots to spread out you will have a pretty strong lawn in no time. The soil must thus be aerated to ensure that the roots can spread and that the air can circulate. We know how to care for the soil and how to guide you regarding watering. All that is left is some sunshine. Contact us today for assistance with plant and soil care.
