Aeration - Part of Lawn Repairs

Lawn repairs may be needed when pests and weeds have taken over, but also when the soil simply cannot provide the required nutrients or has become too hard for proper grass growth. We offer a wide range of lawn repairs to help you get your lawn back to a state of superiority.

Lawn Aeration
Often overlooked as one of the essential means for lawn repairs, lawn aeration is a process whereby small cores of soil are pulled and root tangles are broken apart to improve water and oxygen saturation of the soil.

When is Aeration Required?
When the soil becomes too hard and the roots cannot reach far enough to reach the nutrients required for proper feeding of the grass, aeration is needed.  The lawn normally becomes brown and barren patches may appear because the roots simply don’t get enough nutrients. There are other reasons for brown grass as well, but we generally assess the state of the lawn to determine the cause of dead and barren patches.

When is the Best Time for Aeration?
It is normally done during the spring and autumn periods, but also as part of lawn repairs. To test whether aeration is required one can simply press the point of a tool into the soil at various spots. If the sharp pointed tool can easily go into the soil, no aeration is required. If however, it is difficult to get the point into the soil, it is time for aeration.

We offer numerous methods for lawn repairs, depending on the specific conditions such as the general appearance of the grass, the colour, the soil moisture content, presence of weeds and pests, as well as the grass types, temperature, and season.
